HOW IT ALL STARTED...

Sheridan Tactical started with a simple idea: Sheridan needed a positive place where people could come together, challenge themselves, be outside and off of their phones - and build real-world skills all while having fun.
It began as a conversation between owners Nir and Amanda, who felt strongly about starting up a paintball field in the area and thought about “how cool would it be to have something like this here in Sheridan”. This idea quickly became something much bigger…
As a family-owned business with a strong background in and commitment to supporting first responders, we knew we wanted to create more than just a recreational destination in Sheridan. We wanted to build something that would have a lasting impact on our community in more ways than one.
We saw an opportunity to bring a unique paintball experience to Sheridan while also addressing a very real need: a dedicated, realistic training environment for the people who serve and protect our communities.
And that's how Sheridan Tactical was born.

Sheridan Tactical offers three distinct aspects which make up what we call the 3 Pillars of Sheridan Tactical:
FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING PLATFORM
Purpose-built, real life training scenarios where first responder organizations can train together in real life scenario-based settings.
TACTICAL TRAINING
Tactical training designed to develop skills, confidence, awareness, and preparedness. We meet you where you’re at and bring you to the next levels. We also offer one-on-one Women’s Tactical Self Defense classes.
PAINTBALL
A high-energy and positive experience built for friends, families, teams, groups, and anyone looking for a little competition and a lot of fun. Great for team-building, parties and events, and so much more!

MEET THE OWNER...
Nir Pe'er | Owner & Lead Instructor
25+ Years of Military, Protective Security, Law Enforcement & Emergency Response Experience

At Sheridan Tactical, the training comes from experience earned in the real world.
​
Owner and Lead Instructor Nir Pe’er brings more than 25 years of experience across military special operations, law enforcement, diplomatic protection, emergency response, and search and rescue.
​
Nir began his career in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), where he served in a special forces unit and also served as a paratrooper and combat medic. Those roles gave him firsthand experience operating in environments where preparation, sound decision-making, and the ability to perform under pressure matter.
​
Following his military service, Nir served on the personal security detail for the European Union Ambassador to Israel and the Ambassador’s family, expanding his background into executive and diplomatic protection.
​
After coming to the United States, Nir served as a part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Upstate New York. Nir continued his career working as part of the United States defense industry, specializing in advanced technology such as unmanned and autonomous systems used for a variety of applications including surveillance and concealment. Following that, he continued serving in public safety as a Sheriff’s Deputy. His law-enforcement experience included corrections, dive-team operations, accident reconstruction, unmanned aircraft systems, and other emergency-response responsibilities.

As an FAA-certified commercial drone pilot, he also applied unmanned technology to public-safety operations and worked toward developing a drone capability within the department.
​
Today, Nir continues to serve with the Sheridan Area Search and Rescue team, where he applies his experience with unmanned systems and his specialty in underwater technology is used during search-and-rescue operations.
One of Nir's most notable specialties is in the world of executive protection instruction, where he shares his knowledge and experience applying the Israeli Secret Service doctrine and methodology within the tactical training offered at Sheridan Tactical: executive protection techniques, situational awareness, motorcade work, VCQB, CQB and active shooter situations.

What Nir brings to Sheridan Tactical is more than a collection of certifications or techniques. It is the perspective that comes from years of having to prepare, assess situations, make decisions, and adapt when circumstances change.

That experience, based on real-world situations, is what shapes the core of Sheridan Tactical.

Students are taught to understand what is happening around them, recognize potential threats, make sound decisions, and develop practical skills they can rely on when an ordinary day suddenly becomes an emergency.
